Patron Stories: Randy

Randy in a white shirt wearing sun glasses and smiling

Randy became a client of Xavier Society for the Blind in 2005 after hearing about us from his local library in Austin, TX. Randy receives the Propers of the Sunday Mass and The Xavier Review in braille. He has been blind since birth but he has not let that stop him from practicing his Faith. He recently started to lector at his parish Holy Cross Catholic Church in Austin and has remarked that the parishioners “are very receptive towards me and a few other blind folks that go there.” Apart from our Mass Propers and The Xavier Review, Randy is an avid braille reader and enjoys books on saints and church doctrine. “I love this service and what it does for not only our Lord but for all the blind and visually impaired!” Randy said. Randy enjoys making new friends and would love to connect with fellow lectors and clients. If you’d like to reach out to Randy his e-mail address is randytijerina731@gmail.com.
